The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal & Sikkim has released an official notification for the recruitment of Meritorious Sports Persons. A total of 82 vacancies have been announced for the posts of Tax Assistant (TA) and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). Interested and eligible sports persons can apply offline. Details are given below.

Educational Qualification

Post Name	Qualification
TA	Degree from a recognized University or equivalent
MTS	Matriculation (Class 10) pass from a recognized Board
Sports Eligibility : Candidates must have sports achievements between 01.01.2022 to 30.06.2026 in one of the 17 listed games/sports (Football, Athletics, Cricket, Badminton, Archery, Karate, Lawn Tennis, Chess, etc.) Represented Country in International Competition OR. Represented State/UT in Senior/Junior National Championship / National Games and won medal up to 3rd place OR. Represented University in Inter-University Tournament / Khelo India University Games and won medal OR. Represented State in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years) / Winter Games / Para Games / SGFI School Games with medal. For Chess : Grand Master (GM) / International Master (IM) Title is valid.

Salary / Pay Scale

TA	Rs. 25,500 – 81,100/-
MTS	Rs. 18,000 – 56,900/-

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of applications based on sports achievements (2022-2026).

2. Document Verification.

3. Ground / Field Proficiency Test.

4. Data Entry Skill Test @8000 key depression per hour (Only for Tax Assistant).

5. Final Merit List.

1. Download the application form (ANNEXURE-A) from the official notification.

2. Fill the form in Capital Letters with Black/Blue pen.

3. Super-scribe on the envelope: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST(S) OF *____ FOR RECRUITMENT OF MERITORIOUS SPORTS PERSONS IN INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT, WEST BENGAL & SIKKIM”*.

4. Send the application along with self-attested copies (attested by Gazatted Officer) to :

Office of the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Headquarters (Personnel & Establishment), Kolkata, 1st Floor, Room No-14, Aayakar Bhawan, P-7 Chowringhee Square, Kolkata – 700069 via Ordinary / Speed Post / Registered Post / Courier.

5. The application must reach on or before 30.09.2026. Physical submission is not compulsory.
